California Grand Oration - 1945

Morris Goldstein

( NOT DELIVERED )

Due to a special appeal by the Director of War Mobilization restricting the conducting of conventions MW Grand Master G.C. DeForest Proclaimed on June 25, 1945 that no Annual Communication would take place on October 8, 1945. In September Grand Lodge received another directive from the War Mobilization Office indicating that as far as conventions within the State were concerned there was no longer any Governmental reason why the Annual Communication could not be held. Due to the lateness of this directive the Grand Master declared his Proclamation of June 25 null and void. He then issued a new proclamation stating that the Annual Meeting would be held Friday October 12 and conclude the same day. As such, no unnecessary business, including the delivery of the Grand Oration, was transacted.
